I think he has a problem will our roles being opposite of what he wants.?

If you want to snag this one, you certainly WILL NOT tell him you "don't care" about his values. Lol. No, instead, you should let him know how YOU feel about the issue, but try not to deride his values. If anything, you sound as if you already respect his feelings about it, so let him know that. Show him that though you understand his feelings about something like that, you do not necessarily agree. From there you can only hope he shares an interest in going to the next level with you if he can get past his own reservations about being the provider, etc. Hope this response was insightful.
